The most popular attractions of Dubai.
Dubai is a place where, wherever you turn, there are many amazing sights waiting for you. The architecture of the city itself attracts attention. You can spend from 4 to 7 days just getting to know the city. People who are focused on seeing the most important places will easily meet this lower time limit.
Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the UAE.
Burj Khalifa is the tallest building not only in the United Arab Emirates, but also in the whole world. It measures 828 meters and is divided into as many as 163 floors. Of course, such buildings can not do without viewing platforms. You can go up to the 124th and 125th floor to see the full panorama of the city. Entertainment here is also a ride on the fastest elevator.

Fountains of Dubai.
There is a large lake (man-made) right under the Burj Khalifa building. In the evening, you can admire the show of water choreography. The fountains themselves are 150 meters high and work in the rhythm of music. The first such show begins at sunset. You can also admire the fountains nearby. It is enough to buy a boat trip on the lake at this time.
Palm Jumeirah is the famous palm of Dubai.
Palm Jumeirah is almost a symbol of Dubai. This is the most recognizable landmark, and thanks to its architectural values, it has been proclaimed the eighth wonder of the world. Information for the uninformed – Palm Jumeirah is not a plant, but an island in the shape of a palm tree. Its “stem” is a wide roadway, and residential buildings and numerous hotels are located on the “leaves”. The culmination of the palm is the huge five-star hotel “Atlantis The Palm”, which attracts many celebrities from year to year.
Dubai Mall.
This is something for lovers of shopping malls. However, Dubai Mall is more than a collection of various shops in one place. This is an entertainment center where, in addition to 1,200 shops and hundreds of restaurants, there is also an ice rink, a waterfall and the world’s largest underwater zoo. Walking between the shops, you can meet a stingray or sharks swimming overhead (behind the glass, of course).
Dubai Marina is a city within a city.
Dubai surpasses itself in Dubai Marina. This is a rich part of the city with the most innovative architectural solutions that you can think of. For this reason, it is often called a city within a city β a kind of enclave, transferring to another dimension. There are also many tourist attractions here.
A characteristic place of the Dubai Marina is the seaside marina, where luxury yachts are moored. You can also buy a canal cruise, thanks to which you can visit this part of the city from a slightly different angle.
There is no shortage of exclusive escorts, VIP models, rooftop restaurants with bars and swimming pools in the area. It is also a place to buy things from leading designers.
Deira and Bur Dubai – a walk through the old city.
For those tourists who do not like to bathe in luxury, but instead would like to get a little acquainted with culture and history, it will be great to get acquainted with a completely different culture in areas such as Deira and Bur Dubai. There are no tall glass skyscrapers here (although they will certainly be visible somewhere on the horizon – but this is not the main attraction here).
Deira and Bur Dubai are the oldest districts of the city, which have preserved their original appearance to this day. Thanks to this, a real Arab atmosphere is felt, especially among the stalls where sellers exhibit fabrics, spices and gold jewelry. The buildings in this place are definitely lower, dominated by small restaurants with local delicacies.
The two places are separated by a canal, along which you can travel on traditional wooden boats for a small fee. It is also a unique attraction that will allow you to plunge into the ancient atmosphere of the city. History lovers are recommended to visit the Dubai Museum, where you can find out what life was like in the UAE before the discovery of oil.
Dubai – a trip through the desert and nearby attractions.
After a few days spent in the hustle and bustle of a big city, you may want to break away from the creations of human hands and go to what nature has created. There are only deserts around Dubai, so this is a great opportunity to ride jeeps through the desert dunes.
As part of the purchased safari tour, other activities are also available, such as camel riding, henna tattoos, belly dancing, sunboard riding and sunset photos.
How to organize a trip from the UAE yourself?
The offer of low-cost airlines is forcing more and more tourists to go to Dubai on their own. However, it is worth preparing properly for such a journey. It is better to start by choosing a date – although, of course, this can be determined by the flight schedule, but in summer, i.e. from June to September, and even more so in July and August, it is not advised to fly. Daytime temperatures can reach 42 or 43 degrees Celsius, which definitely makes sightseeing impossible. The most convenient period is spring and autumn, i.e. in October and November or April.
There is no need to worry about communication, as the second official language in the UAE is English. This means that most residents communicate on it at a communicative level.
Although Dubai is associated with luxury, it is not necessary to spend half a fortune on such a trip. There is no shortage of exclusive apartments with city views, but you can find accommodation for any budget. It’s the same with other expenses. Helicopter flights and daily dinners at five-star hotels can really empty your wallet, but most popular attractions are affordable.
You can get around the city by taxi or public transport. You can choose from such means as trams, buses or metro.
Cultural customs β what should you know before traveling to Dubai?
It is important to remember the cultural customs in force in the country. Non-compliance with certain rules may be met with outrage from local residents.
First of all, about the customs related to religion, especially about the period of Ramadan. The journey then can be quite difficult. Muslims are required to observe fasting during this period, but this does not mean that restaurants will be closed to tourists. However, out of respect, eating and drinking in public places should be avoided.
Regardless of the period of Ramadan, in Dubai it is not allowed to drink alcohol in public places, and even more so to stay in them after drinking. In our country, there are situations when a group of drunk people meet after a party – for example, they sing and laugh. This would not have happened there, because such behavior is punishable by imprisonment.
It is also worth bearing in mind the restrictions in clothing β this applies, in particular, to women. You probably don’t need to be reminded of suitable clothes when visiting a mosque, but it’s worth mentioning that on some beaches it’s even forbidden to be in a two-piece suit. The exception is the private areas of hotels. In Dubai, you may be asked to leave the mall because of inappropriate clothing, such as shorts.
Feelings should not be shown in public. Therefore, couples should avoid holding hands, hugging and especially kissing. You also need to be careful when shooting in crowded places. In Dubai, due to religion and customs, foreigners are prohibited from photographing Muslim women.
